Program Objectives:
1) Increase condom use among men who have sex with men who live in the Washington, D.C. area.
2) Decrease the incidence of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections that can be prevented by condom use among men who have sex with men who live in the Washington, D.C. area.
3) Educate men who have sex with men about sexually transmitted infections.
4) Encourage responsible sexual behavior among men who have sex with men by teaching correct condom use and explaining the risks of sexually transmitted diseases.
Plan:
1)Make safer sex kits containing latex condoms and lubricant freely, widely, and reliably available at public venues where men who have sex with men socialize.
2)Create an educational companion website to teach responsible sexual behavior.
Rationale:
Given that most young gay men learn about sexual techniques from online erotica, we believe that using erotic images to promote and teach condom use will provide an engaging counterpoint to the unhealthy behavior shown on pornography websites.
